About

 SIGSUMM was founded in 2023 and is one of ACL’s SIGs. Since its inception, SIGSUMM’s primary mission has been to organize a series of workshops, including NEWSUMM (New Frontiers in Summarization Workshops). 

SIGSUMM is generally focused on corpus-based, statistical or deep learning methods in automatic text summarization, and encourages initiatives in support of this broader mission from its members.

 The sigsumm website is maintained by the current SIGSUMM Secretary. It was originally created by the then SIGSUMM Liaison Representative, Yue Dong, in 2023.
